Each photograph in this series is built upon a single, simple element, the line of waves.
This line marks the boundary between sea and land, a transitional space that constantly shifts, never the same from one moment to the next. From there, the composition and visual rhythm are born.
The chair and the human figures are placed right at the edge of the tide, at the point where the sea almost touches, then retreats again. Not to find perfect balance, but to capture the beauty within imbalance. When the subjects stand in a fragile space between calm and chaos.
The choice of muted tones and coarse textures strengthens the sense of emotional distance. The desaturated sea draws attention to the human form and the water’s line,
while the slightly elevated camera angle and off. Center horizon evoke a feeling of suspension as if time pauses just before the next wave arrives.
Here, aesthetics are not about the beauty of the ocean, but about how the ocean itself shapes a visual language.
Of lines, rhythm, and silence.
